Kapuahi Manini sits in the lava fields of Kukio on Hawaii’s Big Island. Designed as a retreat in the open air, the home is arranged as a series of public and private pods for living and sleeping, linked by boardwalks.
Our role at Kapuahi Manini is to make the interiors as strong and lasting as the setting. We focused on choosing durable materials that work in the island climate, while keeping the spaces warm and inviting. With several pods to connect, we worked on creating a sense of flow so the property feels like one home. Built for a life lived outside, it offers views, space, and a deep connection to the land.
Design that inspires. Spaces that improve life.
